18th Annual Meeting of the Indonesian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine
5th Annual Meeting of the Indonesian Society of Oncology Imaging

Was held from 5 -7 November 2009 at Novotel Mangga Dua Square Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia

This Symposium and Workshop was formally opened by Prof. Cheng Wen Chiang, President of AFSUMB at the presence of Prof. Kanu Bala, Chairman of the AFSUMB Education Committee, Dr. Daniel Makes, President of ISUM, AFSUMB Councilors and Invited Speakers, in an Opening Ceremony which was attended by a room full of participants at Bengawan Solo Ballroom.

A tight interesting program followed the Opening Ceremony, as follow :

  1. The Scientific Session was attended by 192 participants coming from all parts of Indonesia. The topics were including the :
    Abdominal Cardiology
    Obstetric-gynecology Kidney-Urinary tract
    Musculoskeletal Small parts
    International invited speakers were:
    Dr. Cheng Wen Chiang (Taiwan), Dr. Byung Ihn Choi (Korea), Dr. Seung
    Hyup Kim (Korea), Dr. Nobuyuki Taniguchi (Japan), Dr. C.V. Vanjani (India),
    Dr. Yung Liang Wan (Taiwan),Dr. Musarrat Hasan (Pakistan), Dr. Kanu Bala
    (Bangldesh), Dr.Wilaiporn Bhothisuwan (Thailand), Dr. TP Baskaran (Malaysia)
    Dr. John George (Malaysia)
    National invited speakers were:

  2. The Poster Session, 6 participants took part and appreciation were awarded to 2 best posters.
  3. The Workshop, included lecture, demo and  hand’s on , was attended by 50 participants with topics covering the :
    Abdominal Color Doppler Musculoskeletal
    Obstetric-gynecology Kidney Small part
  4. Commercial Exhibition :
    -10 US equipment distributors/vendors displayed their latest US machines
    - 3 Medical Bookstores

The symposium and workshop was formally closed on the 7th November 2009 after noon by Prof. Kanu Bala, Chairman of the AFSUMB Education Committee at the presence of AFSUMB Councilors, Dr. Daniel Makes, President of ISUM, invited speakers and still big audience.
